Bison stumble against Keuka to complete NEAC road trip

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team completed its weekend in New York here Sunday and lost to Keuka College, one of the top teams in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), 3-0.

Keuka (8-0-2, 5-0-1 NEAC) wasted little time as it scored the game's first goal just 50 seconds in. Senior Matt Hey (two goals) knocked home the first of two first-half goals off an assist from Rachid Blanken. Hey added his second goal, 30 minutes later, on an assist from Christian Hewitt. Keuka took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Wolfpack added a third tally in the 79th minute when Ben Schreiber netted his eighth goal of the
season. Schreiber missed his second penalty kick of the second half but Gallaudet senior goalie Eric Setzer (Middletown, Md.) wasn't able to hold onto the ball before Schreiber knocked home the loose rebound.

Setzer made 11 saves as he faced 14 shots on goal. The Wolfpack held a 25-6 edge in shots and 9-2 edge in corner kicks. Gallaudet (1-7-2, 0-6 NEAC) took one shot in the second half in the 52nd minute on a high kick by senior Gabriel Carino (Bronx, N.Y.).
