Gallaudet men's basketball 2015-16 schedule released

WASHINGTON, D.C - The Gallaudet University men’s basketball team and first-year head coach Kevin Kovacs have officially released its schedule for the 2015-16 season. Coach Kovacs is no stranger to the men’s basketball program as the former student-athlete (1994-95) and assistant coach (1995-97) returns to Kendall Green excited for his first season. The new schedule features 24 regular season games as the Bison will play 10 home games and 14 on the road. Gallaudet posted an 18-7 record last season and 14-4 mark in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play.

The Bison will begin their season in November on the road at Yeshiva University on Sunday, Nov.
15, in the season opener. Gallaudet will then travel to Towson, Md., to face Towson University from the Division I ranks on Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. GU closes out the month on the road against in-region power St. Mary's (Md.) College on Nov, 28 at 2 p.m.

Gallaudet's first home game will be Dec. 8 against Eastern Mennonite University at 5 p.m. in the Field House. The Bison will host University of Valley Forge on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 4 p.m. before closing out the semester at Goucher College on Dec. 19 at 2 p.m.

In the month of January the Bison will see only conference action beginning away against Penn St.-Abington on Tuesday, Jan. 5. The first home conference game will be in the Bison’s second match-up against Penn College on Saturday, Jan. 9. The Bison hit the road for three NEAC games including a trip to play last year's NEAC champions, SUNY Cobleskill, on Jan. 16. Gallaudet returns to the Field House for the weekend of Jan. 23-24 for two NEAC games before closing out the month of January with an away doubleheader at Lancaster Bible College and Penn St.-Berks.

February will begin on the road for a weekend in New York before closing out the regular-season slate with four consecutive home games. The last regular-season game will also honor the men's basketball seniors on Senior Day, Saturday, Feb. 20, against Penn St.-Berks at 1 p.m.
