WSWIM: Gallaudet dives back into swim competition after 20-month hiatus

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet women's swimming and diving program kicked off its 2021-22 season here Friday night as the Bison welcomed Bridgewater (Va.) College to the Field House pool. The visiting Eagles won the non-conference meet, 215-31.

The meet officially began the Coach Nick Pezzarossi era leading the Gallaudet men's and women's swimming program.  

Bridgewater dominated and won all 15 events.

The Bison had a handful of second-place performances; Jaelynn King (Silver Spring, Md.) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (17:41.91) and Amelia Oliver (Elkridge, Md.) in the 100-yard butterfly (1:24.40).

BISON TRACKS

  • This was Gallaudet's first swim meet since Feb. 16, 2020
  • GU last hosted a home swim meet on Jan. 25, 2020

UP NEXT
Gallaudet will begin conference competition next Saturday, Nov. 6, when the Bison welcome Immaculata University to campus for a 1 p.m. Atlantic East Conference meet.
