DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections from November 29 through December 3, 2021

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:

I-395 Center Leg under K Street, N.W., and the Mount Carmel Parking Garage and Associate Buildings, alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound I-395 Center Leg under K Street, N.W. and the Mount Carmel Parking Garage and Associate Buildings followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound I-395 Center Leg under K Street, N.W. and the Mount Carmel Parking Garage and Associate Buildings on Monday, November 29 and Tuesday November 30, during the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.

Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway over Potomac Parkway and Rock Creek,

narrowing/partial lane closure of the ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway over the Potomac Parkway and Rock Creek on Wednesday, December 1, during the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.

Ramp from Southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) to Southbound South Capitol Street, S.W. over Northbound South Capitol Street, S.W., narrowing/partial lane closure of the ramp from Southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) to Southbound South Capitol Street, S.W. over Northbound South Capitol Street, S.W. on Wednesday, December 1, during the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.

Northbound South Capitol Street, S.W. under Ramp from Southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) to Southbound South Capitol Street, S.W., alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound South Capitol Street, S.W. under Ramp from Southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) to Southbound South Capitol Street, S.W. on Wednesday, December 1, during the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.

New York Avenue, N.E. over Anacostia River, alternating right and left lane closures of Eastbound New York Avenue, N.E. over Anacostia River followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Westbound New York Avenue, N.E. over Anacostia River on Friday, December 3, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through
