Washington D.C - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced today that the Takoma Aquatic Facility, located at 300 Van Buren St., NW, will temporarily close. The DC Department of General Services (DGS) will conduct general pool and facility maintenance, along with painting, beginning on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 4 pm.
Takoma Aquatic Facility is expected to re-open on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 6 am.
All scheduled programs and classes will be cancelled during the maintenance improvement period.

DPR Announces Closure Schedules for Inauguration Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Washington D.C - The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced today that all DPR Centers, Aquatic Facilities and Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2013 in observance of the Presidential Inauguration (observed) and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
All Aquatic Facilities will be closed on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in observance of the Presidential Inauguration.
Grass fields have closed for the season and they will remain closed.
No permits have been issued for January 20 or January 21.
All other fields, courts, playgrounds and parks will remain open for free use/play on Sunday, January 20th and Monday, January 21st in observance of the holidays.
