Demi Lovato Returns For X Factor Third Season

Demi Lovato, who won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Celebrity Judge in January, has signed on to return for THE X FACTOR Season 3. The talented 20-year-old started in show business as a child and rose quickly. At fifteen, she was a bona fide TV star cultivating a promising singing career. In the late 2000s, while maintaining a rigorous TV and film shooting schedule, Lovato released two massively successful solo albums, Don't Forget (2007) and Here We Go Again (2009); the former debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, the latter at #1.

Demi Lovato has had a phenomenal start to 2013. Spurred by first-week sales of 215,000, "Heart Attack," the first single off her untitled, upcoming fourth album, recently achieved Gold status in the U.S., debuted at #1 on the iTunes' chart in 18 countries (including the U.S.) and #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 (the second-best Billboard debut of the year). The single became the most added song on Top 40 Radio in the U.S. the week it premiered, and is currently being played on over 190 radio stations. To date, there have been over 20 worldwide Twitter trends for "Heart Attack." The song was produced by The Suspex and co-written by Lovato.

THE X FACTOR is thrilled to have such an iconic performer as Demi on the judging panel. At the start of Demi's first season she noted that she didn't think judging would be so difficult. "I definitely didn't think that it would be this challenging because saying no to people is really hard," she explained. "And emotionally, it kind of messes with you a little bit because you don't want to say no to some people and then some people you're torn, and you know in the back of your mind if you say no what if that was their only shot, and you let them go when they weren't really that bad. It is really confusing."

Demi proved to be more than equal to the task. As the youngest judge and mentor, Lovato brought a fresh perspective to the panel and received praise from critics for her banter with Cowell and active involvement

Carly Rose Sonenclar Performs "All I Want for Christmas Is You" X Factor Finale

Carly Rose Sonenclar performed Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" as her "Song for the Holidays" performance on night two of the Season 2 Finale of X Factor, Thursday, December 20th, 2012.

About Carly Rose Sonenclar:

Just 13 years old, Carly Rose Sonenclar is riding her dreams with her eyes on the future as the world’s next little pop diva. A combination of effortless musical artistry, self-confidence, and untamed joy has led Carly to follow her heart’s greatest passion. In doing so she has already seen success that most young teenagers only dream about. “I love music,” exclaims Carly. “I just sing from my heart.”

It may be hard to believe such a soulfully beautiful voice comes from so small a teen, but Carly is undeniably a pop prodigy. Her journey began at the age of seven when she landed a performing role in the Off-Broadway production, The Night of the Hunter. Now, years later, with many professional credits and venues under her belt, her performances on the X Factor are catapulting her to super-stardom. “I want to bring the soul back to pop,” says Carly. Mixing the two genres with her mature sound and style have her poised to appeal to a wide range of ages.

With fans as far away as Japan, the princess of ballads is now an international sensation on iTunes and YouTube, her biggest videos earning well over 20 million views. But Carly isn't ready to stop – far from it. She has set her sights and her voice on taking the music world by storm.

Carly Rose Sonenclar: "It's An Interesting Feeling"

So close, but so far, such is the case with any second place finisher, but for Carly Rose Sonenclar, the show's frontrunner, it leaves her with mixed emotions.

"It's an interesting feeling," Carly said in her post-show interview. "I'm very happy though because I have made it to the Finals and I made it in second place and that alone is amazing for me. I'm very happy for Tate and his family. He deserves it. He's amazing. It's been a great experience. I can't say I'm not a little disappointed, but that's only natural. It's been a great ride."

Though she's a household name now, the 13-year-old said that her newfound fame hasn't, and won't, change her. "I've been trying to stay the same person because I know if I came back to my friends at home a completely different person, I would hate myself. So, no I don't think I've changed much," she said.

While she didn't reveal what her Teens mentor Britney Spears whispered in her ear on stage Thursday night, she did say what the judge said to her moments after placing second. "She said, 'This is not the end for you. I know that you're so amazing. You are the most talented person here.' She made me smile."

BREAKING NEWS: Tate Stevens Wins X Factor

BREAKING NEWS: It has just been announced that your X Factor season two winner is 37 year old Tate Stevens from Belton, Missouri. Tate Stevens, which is a stage name (his given name is Stephen Eatinger), began performing at the age of 4 when he'd hop up onstage with his father, who was a big influence on him. "I remember knowing that I wasn't scared and that I wanted to keep singing in front of people. I had so much fun," recalls the country singer, who is one of L.A. Reid's Over 25s. From there, Tate would perform at talent shows, oprys, church choir, and school choir before hitting the road right out of high school with his band, the Dixie Cadillacs, who opened for many of today's biggest country stars, including Sammy Kershaw and others.
"I am a true country artist," says Tate. "I do a little bit of everything in the country genre. I always throw in a little bit of my traditional country roots along with a country and rock edge to it. Of course, I love to do ballads as well. I feel that I can really connect to people through my music, regardless fast/slow/etc. I like my shows to be high energy and very entertaining. If I were to make an album today it would be modern country with a little bit of a traditional feel - a great combination of the high energy rockin' songs with some killer ballads as well. You know the kind that rip your heart out?"

On why he could win THE X FACTOR, Tate says, "To have the X factor you have to have the whole package. You have to be a great singer, performer, and all-around artist. I feel that I am that because of the many years of work and hours doing it I feel that it has made me the best at what I do."
