Gallaudet's Kingstedt earns fourth NEAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Oct. 6 and freshman Otto Kingstedt (Stockholm, Sweden) was chosen as the NEAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week after a masterful performance and setting a new personal record at the Cazenovia College Homecoming Invitational last Saturday.

Kingstedt missed winning the Cazenovia Homecoming Invitational by only three seconds as he battled neck-and-neck with Zakaria Djouma of Mohawk Valley Community College. Kingstedt finished the muddy and damp 8K with a new personal record of 26 minutes and five seconds, and 53 seconds before the third-place finisher from Morrisville State College. The finish was also the fourth-fastest time in Bison program history, which now gives Kingstedt two of Gallaudet's top-five all-time finish times in just his debut season. The Bison finished the event in sixth place out of 12 teams, which included eight NEAC squads, and 118 total runners.

This is the fourth time in Gallaudet history that a runner has earned a NEAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor.

QUOTABLE
"Otto has consistently been a top two finisher for every meet the team has competed in so far this season. I believe all of Otto's hard work and dedication has paid off." Byron Moore, Gallaudet men's cross country head coach.
