DEPUTY SECRETARY BILL BURNS
10:30 a.m. Deputy Secretary Burns meets with the Malaysian Ambassador to the U.S. Datuk Othman Hashim, at the Department of State.
3:00 p.m. Deputy Secretary Burns officiates the swearing-in ceremony for the U.S. Ambassador-designate to Ethiopia Patricia Haslach, at the Department of State.
4:30 p.m. Deputy Secretary Burns meets with the Indian Ambassador to the U.S. Nirupama Rao, at the Department of State.

UNDER SECRETARY FOR POLITICAL AFFAIRS WENDY SHERMAN

Under Secretary Sherman is on foreign travel to Nigeria from August 14 through 16, as the head of the U.S. delegation to the Binational Commission. During her trip, Ambassador Sherman will also hold consultations with government officials and civil society.

ACTING ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR DEMOCRACY, HUMAN RIGHTS AND LABOR UZRA ZEYA
1:00 p.m. Acting Assistant Secretary Zeya meets with NGO Representatives, at the Department of State.


SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS DREW O’BRIEN

Special Representative O’Brien is on foreign travel from August 10 through 14 to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 2013 African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Forum.

SPECIAL ADVISER FOR GLOBAL YOUTH ISSUES ZEENAT RAHMAN
Special Adviser Rahman is on foreign travel in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the West Bank through August 18 to meet with young Israelis and Palestinian from across economic, political, and civic spheres.
